H.O.W.D.Y. Media is located in Wilmington, NC, a film town lovingly referred to as Wilmywood. It's home to one of five Cinespace Studios locations (formerly EUE/Screen Gems Studios) as well as Dark Horse Stages.

Films produced here include Iron Man 3, The Black Phone, Halloween Kills, Scream (2022), We're The Millers, The Conjuring, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Sleeping With The Enemy, Muppets from Space, and cult classics Blue Velvet and Weekend at Bernie's.

TV shows that called Wilmington home include The Summer I Turned Pretty, Hightown, George & Tammy, Good Behavior, Under the Dome, Sleepy Hollow, Eastbound & Down, One Tree Hill, and Dawson's Creek.

With the vibrant local film industry, there is a wealth of talent and crew in the area. Local equipment rental options include Dunton Cine USA, originally founded by Joe Dunton, maker of animorphic lenses, who provided cameras and lenses for classics such as The Shawshank Redemption, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Time Bandits, Conan the Barbarian, The Princess Bride, and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
